From time to time, Titan registration requests do not process as expected. Below are the common issues and their resolutions.
Before You Begin
Ensure you are logged into the Titan PC as a Windows Administrator and have the Titan Registration screen open. This can be found by pressing the Registration button during the wait screen, or logging into Titan and going to Help > Registration > Register.
The Titan Registration Screen.
Note: Titan will generate a new one use ‘License Key’ each time Titan is started. If you close Titan prior to entering the code, the generated code will not work and a new code must be generated.
“The activation code in the email doesn’t work”
This is usually because you are attempting to use a one use code that was emailed previously, and have either used the code before (first time they registered) or have closed and re-opened Titan before entering the code.
A new Activation Code must be generated.
“The code generated by the website doesn’t work”
From time to time, the registration website will generate an invalid code. You will need to call the Interlogix Customer Service department for a new code.
“The code generated by the website, or by Customer Service does not work”
The most common cause of this issue is an invalid serial number entered during installation. This is often not the fault of the installer, but simply the serial number included with the product is not recognised by our system. You will need to re-install Titan and enter a valid serial number. Please contact the Interlogix Customer Service department for more information.
Titan does NOT need to be uninstalled. The installation can simply be run again, and the new serial number entered when prompted during the installation. Ensure you have performed an Export of their system using the File > System Maintenance program.
This reinstallation & new serial number entry procedure has a very high success rate.
“I’ve registered my software, but when I log in as a different Windows user, Titan says it’s unregistered”
There is a Windows setting that needs to be changed.
Only an IT administrator can make this change.
The IT professional on-site must perform the following:
- Open REGEDIT
- Locate the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RailGuage
- Right-click on “RailGuage” and select ‘Permissions’
- Ensure the ‘Users’ group has ‘Full Control’ permissions selected under ALLOW.
- Apply, click Ok and close REGEDIT.
- Log out, and log back in and Titan should now recognise that it is registered.
Note: Using REGEDIT can be dangerous, where a small mistake can irrepairably damage Windows. These instructions are to be carried out ONLY by an IT professional.
Still having issues?
Should none of the above resolve the issue or the IT representative requires further assistance, please contact the Interlogix Technical Support department.
